Add Business Days Calculator

Find the exact date you land on after adding a number of working days to a start date, skipping weekends automatically.

Counting begins the day after your start date, so the start date itself is not counted.

Enter a start date and a number of business days to find the resulting date.

How Add Business Days Calculator Works

Starting from the day after your chosen date, the tool steps forward one calendar day at a time. Each time it lands on a Monday through Friday, it counts toward your total; Saturdays and Sundays are stepped over without counting. Once the count reaches the number you entered, that day's date is the result.

How to Use This Tool

  1. Enter the date you want to start counting from.
  2. Enter how many business days you want to add.
  3. Select Calculate Date to see the resulting date, its day of the week, and how many calendar days it spans.

Example

Adding 5 business days to Friday, 21 August 2026 lands on Friday, 28 August 2026 — the weekend in between (22–23 August) isn't counted, so it takes a full calendar week to cover 5 working days.

Helpful Tips

  • Because counting starts the day after your input date, adding 0 isn't a valid entry — use at least 1 business day.
  • This tool doesn't exclude public holidays, only weekends — factor in holidays separately if they apply to your schedule.
  • It's useful for estimating delivery dates, response deadlines, or any "N business days from now" commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the start date count as day one?
No. Counting begins the day after your start date, so if the start date itself is a weekday it is not included in the total.
What happens if my start date falls on a weekend?
It doesn't matter for the count — the tool simply starts stepping forward from the next calendar day, skipping any Saturdays or Sundays it encounters.
Can I enter a negative number of days?
No, this tool only adds business days forward. Enter a positive whole number.
Does it account for holidays?
No, only weekends are excluded. If your organization observes holidays, subtract those days from your result manually.
